Wayne Giesy has been a tireless supporter of his "Oregon Plan" solution to the so-called "Forest Wars" of the western US for more than 30 years -- since the time his employer, Ralph Hull, after months of detailed discussion and serious consideration, gave him the resources and official backing of Hull-Oakes Lumber Co. to formally promote the idea to their associates in the timber and forest management industries. This article provides background, insight and some context to Wayne's continued efforts to promote this idea.
