Nathaniel Ford was a General Land Office surveyor in southwest Oregon during the summer of 1854. He is an important figure in Oregon history, and is more famous in that region as one of the members of the 1846 Scott-Applegate expedition to discover a southern wagon route of the Oregon Trail to the Willamette Valley.
